Biography of Stephen C. McCutcheon

   Stephen C. McCutcheon is the President and Chief Investment Officer of SCM Associates, Inc. He has been a registered investment advisor since 1986, and is a licensed broker registered representative and principal. He founded and served as President of his own broker/dealer firm from 1988-2000 and the SCM Portfolio Fund, Inc., a no-load mutual fund, from 1988-1998. 

   He attended the public schools of Georgia and received a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University in 1961; masters from Florida State University in 1963; and a doctorate from Indiana University in 1968. 

   Dr. McCutcheon was a member of the graduate faculty and administrative staff of the State University of West Georgia for 28 years before devoting full-time to the investment management business. He has taught two courses: investment strategies and mutual funds. He wrote a monthly stock analysis column for Georgia Trend magazine from 1994 to 1999.
